Ninety years ago, Social Security was created as a promise — a promise that after a lifetime of hard work, every American would have the dignity and security they deserve in retirement. Today, that promise is under attack.

This evening, Bernard Taylor will join community members, advocates, and seniors at the Social Security Anniversary outside the Social Security Office at 6810 US 1 from 5:00 PM to 6:30 PM.

“For too many in our district, Social Security is the difference between stability and poverty,” Bernard said ahead of the event. “It’s not just a policy — it’s a lifeline. We cannot allow political games in Washington to strip away what Americans have earned through a lifetime of contributions.”

Bernard has been clear:

  • Protect Social Security from cuts and privatization

  • Expand benefits to meet the rising cost of living

  • Ensure solvency through responsible, fair reforms

As Florida families face rising costs for housing, food, and healthcare, dismantling Social Security is not an option. Bernard will continue to stand with those who built this country — our seniors, veterans, and working families — to defend and strengthen this critical program.
