Statement from Bernard Taylor on the Minneapolis Catholic School Shooting

Today, my heart is with the students, families, faculty, and the entire Minneapolis community in the wake of the tragic shooting at a Catholic school.

No child should ever fear for their safety in a classroom. No parent should have to question whether their child will come home at the end of the school day. Acts of violence like this devastate communities and leave scars that last generations.

In moments like this, we must stand together — across communities, across faiths, across political differences — to affirm one truth: our children deserve to learn and grow in safe, nurturing environments.

I am praying for the families affected, for the educators who protect and guide our students, and for the community as it begins to heal. But beyond prayer, we must remain committed to building a future where tragedies like this no longer occur.
